Your driver guide picks you up from the hotel or your preffered pick up location in Arusha early in the morning. Arrival at the park is followed by registration formalities at the main gate before the game drive begins. Covering approximately 2,850 sq km, Tarangire is known for its dry river system, broad savannah, seasonal swamps, and heavy concentration of baobab trees that dominate several sections of the park. 

The Tarangire River serves as the primary water source during the dry season, attracting substantial wildlife activity near the riverbanks and surrounding woodland. Elephant herds are frequently encountered here, often travelling in large family groups alongside zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, and wildebeest.

The game drive continues deeper into the park through changing vegetation zones where the landscape shifts between open grassland, acacia woodland, and dense bush corridors. Tarangire also supports a healthy predator population, particularly lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas, as well as avian species birdlife throughout the year with over 500 recorded species. 

Lunch is served at a designated picnic site inside the park with time to rest briefly before continuing with the afternoon safari. Later in the day, the drive returns toward the exit gate and depart for Arusha. Expect to arrive in Arusha in the early evening with drop off at the hotel or preferred location.
