Central Serengeti
This 3 day safari focuses entirely on Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most revered game reserves and a stronghold for large predators and migratory herds. The programme cuts down long driving hours by scheduled flights between Arusha and the Serengeti, allowing more time for game viewing.
Covering roughly 14,763 km², the park shifts constantly with rainfall, grazing patterns, and animal movement, making every drive slightly different from the previous one. Open grasslands dominate much of central Serengeti, though granite kopjes, river systems, and scattered acacia belts shape the wider terrain.
Today starts with a transfer to Arusha Airport for a scheduled morning flight into Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival at the airstrip, your safari guide greets you and the first game drive begins immediately.
Central Serengeti remains active throughout the year due to its permanent water sources and healthy concentration of prey species, making it one of the most reliable regions for predator sightings. Lions are commonly seen near kopjes while cheetahs often favour the shorter plains during the cooler hours. Lunch is served at the lodge before continuing with an afternoon game drive. Towards sunset, return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Most mornings in Serengeti begin before animal activity increases with the first light. Today allows a full day inside the park with flexibility to follow wildlife movement depending on recent sightings and seasonal conditions. An early departure improves chances of encountering predators before temperatures rise, particularly lions and leopards returning from night hunting activity. Herds of zebra and wildebeest move steadily through the plains while hyenas patrol nearby with remarkable persistence.
Guests who reserve in advance may opt for an early morning hot air balloon safari followed by breakfast in the bush. Later in the day, game drives continue through different sections of central Serengeti, including river valleys and kopje formations that frequently attract big cats. Lunch is served at the lodge, followed by another afternoon in the field before returning to camp in evening.

The final morning starts before sunrise when temperatures is still cooler and wildlife activity is usually at its best. This short game drive often turns out to be one of the most unforgettable moment on safari, particularly around drainage lines and open plains where predators remain active before retreating from the heat. After breakfast back at camp, transfer to the nearby airstrip for the scheduled flight to Arusha.
The aerial view on departure gives a final perspective of the Serengeti’s immense scale, with scattered herds still visible from above during clear conditions. Upon arrival in Arusha, our representative meets you for the transfer to your hotel or onward arrangements. Depending on your flight schedules, there may be time for lunch or short rest before continuing with evening plans.
