Arusha NP, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater
This safari follows the full northern circuit at an intentional pace. From the baobab country of Tarangire to the open grasslands of Serengeti and the volcanic floor of Ngorongoro Crater, the route is designed to reveal the wildlife abundance of Tanzania within a single safari. Lake Manyara introduces groundwater forests and Rift Valley scenery, while Arusha National Park offers a quieter finale with forest, lakes, and walking opportunities near Mount Meru. This program suits travellers who want extended game viewing, practical travel days, and accommodation that allows time to rest properly between activities.
Arrival At Kilimanjaro International Airport Is Followed By A Private Transfer To Your Hotel Or Lodge In Arusha. Depending On Arrival Time, The Afternoon Can Be Spent For Rest After What’s Probably Been A Long Flight. Many Safari Travellers Underestimate How Valuable This Slower First Day Becomes Before Long Hours On Safari Begin.
Your Guide Will Provide A Briefing Covering The Route, Driving Hours, Weather Expectations, Wildlife Viewing Etiquette, And Practical Details For The Upcoming Days. Dinner Is Served At The Lodge This Evening, Followed By An Early Night Before The Safari Officially Starts The Following Morning.

Arusha
The Safari Begins With A Drive Toward Tarangire National Park, An Area Covering Roughly 2,850 Sq Km And Famously Known For Its Giant Baobabs, Dry Riverbeds, And Substantial Elephant Population During The Dry Season Months. The Ecosystem Here Feels Different From The Greener Highlands Around Ngorongoro, With Scattered Acacia Woodland And Broad Dusty Tracks Shaping Much Of The Landscape. Wildlife Sightings Often Begin Not Long After Entering The Park Gate, Particularly Zebra, Giraffe, Buffalo, And Elephant Herds Near The Tarangire River. Lunch Is Served At A Designated Picnic Site Inside The Park Before Continuing With An Afternoon Game Drive Deeper Into Other Parts. By Late Afternoon, The Drive Proceeds To The Lodge Or Tented Camp For Dinner And Overnight.

Tarangire
Today Allows Enough Time To Properly Explore Areas That Many Shorter Safaris Pass Through Quickly. The Morning Usually Starts At A Steady Pace With Wildlife Activity Concentrated Near Water Sources Before Temperatures Rise Later In The Day. Tarangire Is Particularly Respected Among Guides For Predator Sightings During Certain Periods, Especially Lions Resting Beneath Acacia Trees And Occasional Leopard Sightings Along Riverine Vegetation. The Park Also Supports Large Numbers Of Birds, Including Yellow Collared Lovebirds, Kori Bustards, And Hornbills. Lunch Is Arranged Back At The Lodge, Giving Time To Rest During The Warmer Hours Of The Day. A Shorter Afternoon Game Drive Follows Later, Ending With Sundowners Near Camp Before Dinner And Overnight.

This Morning’s Route Heads Toward Lake Manyara National Park, A Comparatively Smaller But Geographically Unique Game Reserve Tucked Along The Base Of The Great Rift Valley Escarpment. Despite Covering About 325 Sq Km, The Park Features Groundwater Forest, Open Grassland, Hot Springs, And Alkaline Lake Shoreline Within Relatively Short Driving Distances. The First Section Often Feels Cool And Shaded Beneath Tall Mahogany And Fig Trees Where Baboons Remain Common Throughout The Day. Further Inside The Park, You May Encounter Elephant, Buffalo, Zebra, Hippo Near The Water Channels, Just To Name A Few. Lunch Is Served At A Picnic Site Overlooking Parts Of The Lake Before Continuing With An Afternoon Game Drive. Toward Evening, The Drive Continues To Karatu For Dinner, Warm Showers, And Overnight Near The Crater Highlands.

Karatu
A Longer Drive Today Shifts From The Fertile Ngorongoro Highlands Into The Enormous Serengeti Ecosystem, Which Extends Over Approximately 14,763 Sq Km. The Road Passes Through Changing Scenery, Beginning With Cooler Forested Hills Before Opening Into Wide Grassland Plains Associated With The Serengeti National Park.
Wildlife Sightings Often Begin Before Reaching The Lodge, Particularly Around The Seronera Valley Where Year-Round Water Supports Resident Wildlife Populations Even Outside Migration Periods. Depending On The Season, Sightings May Include Lion Prides, Cheetah, Hyena, Elephant, And Large Numbers Of Grazing Herbivores Spread Across The Plains. Lunch Is Carried As Packed Meals Due To The Travel Distance And Is Usually Taken At A Designated Picnic Site En Route. Arrival At Camp Follows In The Late Afternoon For Dinner And Overnight.

Central Serengeti
Today Allows More Time To Enjoy Extended Game Drives At A Relaxed Pace. The Seronera Area Supports Permanent Water Sources, Which Explains The Steady Concentration Of Wildlife Even Outside Migration Months. The Morning Game Drive Follows Drainage Channels And Open Plains Where Predators Often Remain Visible Well Into The Day.
Cheetahs Are Commonly Spotted Scanning From Termite Mounds While Elephant Herds Pass Between Patches Of Acacia Woodland. Lunch Is Arranged Back At The Lodge, Giving Time To Rest During The Warmer Hours Before Heading Out Again Later In The Afternoon. An Optional Hot Air Balloon Safari Can Also Be Arranged This Morning With Advance Booking. As Daylight Softens, The Drive Continues Toward Kopjes Where Lions Frequently Settle Before Darkness. Dinner Is Served At The Lodge.

Central Serengeti
Another Day Inside Serengeti Creates Opportunities To Explore Sections Beyond The Busier Wildlife Circuits Near Seronera Airstrip. Your Guide May Adjust The Route According To Recent Wildlife Sightings, Seasonal Migration Patterns, Or Road Conditions Following Rain. During Certain Months, Massive Herds Gather Within Driving Distance Of Central Camp Areas, While Other Seasons Favour Resident Wildlife And Predator Tracking Instead. Game Viewing Often Becomes More Rewarding Later In Longer Safaris Because There Is Less Pressure To Search Quickly Before Departure. Lunch Is Served In The Bush At A Picnic Site Under The Acacia Tree Before Continuing Deeper Into The Plains During The Afternoon. The Return To Camp Comes In The Evening After Another Extended Game Drive, Followed By Dinner And Overnight In The Heart Of The Serengeti.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Central Serengeti
The Morning Begins With A Final Game Drive Through Central Serengeti Before Departing Toward The Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Wildlife Sightings Frequently Continue Along The Route, Particularly Scattered Antelope Herds Feeding Near The Roadside Plains. Leaving Serengeti Behind, The Road Enters Cooler Highland Terrain With Noticeable Changes In Vegetation And Temperature. Lunch Is Carried As Packed Meals And Taken During The Drive Before Continuing Toward The Lodge. Arrival During The Late Afternoon Gives Time To Settle Into The Lodge And Enjoy The Quieter Atmosphere Of The Highlands After Several Days In Serengeti National Park. The Elevation Here Exceeds 2,000 Metres, Creating Colder Evenings Than The Plains Below, Especially Between June And August. Dinner Is Served At The Lodge Followed By Overnight.

Ngorongoro Highlands
Today Descends Roughly 600 Metres Into The Ngorongoro Crater Floor, One Of The Few Places In Tanzania Where Wildlife Viewing Can Remain Consistently Active Throughout Much Of The Year. The Crater Itself Measures About 260 Sq Km And Supports Permanent Water Sources, Grassland, Swamps, Fever Tree Woodland, And Soda Lake Habitat Within Its Enclosed Walls. Because Animals Rarely Migrate Outside The Crater, Sightings Often Include Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Hippo, Hyena, And Lion Prides Within A Relatively Compact Area. The Crater Also Offers One Of The Stronger Chances To Encounter Black Rhino, Though Sightings Always Depend On Luck And Visibility Conditions. Lunch Is Served At The Designated Picnic Area Near The Hippo Pool Before Ascending The Crater Road And Continuing To The Lodge In Mto Wa Mbu For Dinner And Overnight.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Karatu
Leaving The Crater Highlands Behind, The Drive Returns Toward Arusha Before Continuing Into Arusha National Park, A Smaller But Remarkably Varied Protected Area Covering Approximately 552 Sq Km Beneath Mount Meru. Unlike The Larger Northern Circuit Game Reserves, This Area Feels Quieter And Greener, With Montane Forest, Crater Lakes, And Open Grassland Supporting A Different Style Of Safari Experience.
Wildlife Commonly Seen Here Includes Giraffe, Buffalo, Zebra, Warthog, Black And White Colobus Monkeys, And Flamingos Around The Momella Lakes During Suitable Seasons. Depending On Park Conditions And Ranger Availability, A Guided Walking Safari May Also Be Arranged In Designated Areas Accompanied By An Armed Ranger. Lunch Is Served At A Picnic Site Inside The Park Before Continuing With An Afternoon Game Drive And Return To Arusha For Dinner And Overnight.
