Tour Overview

This 10 day safari connects the key wildlife regions of Northern Tanzania with a slower finish on the paradisiac beaches of Zanzibar. The route begins in Arusha before continuing through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, giving enough time for proper game viewing and relaxation. Expect changing ecosystems throughout the safari, from baobab country and groundwater forests to short grass plains and volcanic highlands. Accommodation follows a high-end standard with carefully selected lodges and camps positioned close to the main wildlife areas. The final stretch in Zanzibar shifts the pace completely, with time for the beach, Swahili food, ocean air and quieter evenings after several days on safari.

The Safari Begins Southwest Toward Tarangire National Park, An Area Covering Roughly 2,850 Sq Km And Recognized For Its Heavy Concentration Of Elephants And Ancient Baobab Trees. The Drive Takes Several Hours With Changing Roadside Scenery That Gradually Shifts From Busy Town Traffic To Open Countryside And Maasai Settlements.

Game Viewing Starts Soon After Entering The Park, Where Sightings Often Include Elephant Families, Giraffes, Buffalo, Warthogs And Large Groups Of Zebras Near The Tarangire River. During The Dry Season, The River Becomes One Of The Few Reliable Water Sources Inside The Park, Drawing Wildlife From Surrounding Areas. The Game Drive Usually Starts Beneath Dense Fig And Mahogany Trees Where Baboons Gather In Unusually Large Numbers Near The Road. Further Inside The Park, Sightings May Include Elephants, Hippos And Seasonal Flamingos Spread Along The Lake Edge.

Lake Manyara Also Boasts The Largest Bird Population With More Than 400 Recorded Species. A Scheduled Flight From Arusha Airport Brings A Complete Shift After Several Days On Safari. Arrival In Zanzibar Introduces Humid Coastal Air And The Slower Pace Associated With The Island’s Eastern Indian Ocean Setting. Stone Town Itself Developed Through Centuries Of Trade Involving Arabia, Persia, India And The East African Coast, Leaving Behind A Distinctive Urban Character Still Visible Today.
